Being a caregiver to someone with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is important. It can also be challenging. Because IPF is a progressive disease, it is important that you ensure that both you and the person you are caring for have the proper resources.
Areas of IPF caregiving that you should know about are:
- Disease treatment—Disease treatment can include using several approaches to patient care. This can include ensuring that the patient takes OFEV® (nintedanib) capsules as directed and understands the use of oxygen, if oxygen is recommended by their healthcare provider.
- Understanding the disease—This demands a thorough understanding of the disease and how it will affect the patient as it progresses.
