Getting
OFEV

Once you and your doctor decide to make OFEV® (nintedanib) capsules part of your treatment plan, the next step is to get it. OFEV is available only through a Specialty Pharmacy, which is different from your neighborhood pharmacy in a few helpful ways. Specialty Pharmacies are familiar with chronic and complex conditions, as well as the medicines used to treat them.

  • Make note of your Specialty Pharmacy’s name and phone number so you can inform them of any changes to your address, phone number, or insurance plan

IMPORTANT: ANSWER A CALL TO CONFIRM YOUR PRESCRIPTION

When the Specialty Pharmacy calls, your phone may show the call as a toll-free phone number* or caller-ID “blocked,” or “unknown.” If you don’t answer, they will leave a general message “about your prescription.” Be sure to call them back.

If your Specialty Pharmacy cannot reach you after several attempts, your prescription will go on hold and may be canceled.

*Toll-free numbers are numbers that begin with one of the following three-digit codes: 800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, or 833.

Your Specialty Pharmacy may call you within several weeks after you start taking your OFEV to see how you’re doing. They will ask questions, such as:

  • How are you doing with your medication?
  • How many pills do you have left?
  • Have you been taking your pills regularly?
  • Has your insurance information changed?
  • Do you need any additional assistance?
